6. How Long Do They Last?
Semi-Permanent tattoo treatments will not wash off, however, they will fade over time and may need to be refreshed every 11 months to 15 months. Frequency of touch-ups depends on a number of factors including: the pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster), sun exposure without SPF, excessive exfoliation to the area and if any chemical peels come into contact with treated areas will fade it faster. Please note that final results CANNOT be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. You will be re-evaluated on how your skin has received the pigment at your touch-up appointment and any necessary changes will be made. Touch-ups are normal for cosmetic tattoo procedures, with each new procedure requiring at least 2 visits. Previously tattooed areas will generally always require additional appointments
7. How Long is the Appointment?
Appointments are booked on a 2-3 hour basis, allowing for thorough consultation and treatment. Tattooing time varies for each treatment.
8. What is the Process Like?
Microblading is a two-step procedure, consisting of the initial procedure followed by a touch up between 6 to 8 weeks after.
After taking before photos, I will begin by mapping out your new brow design with a makeup pencil and use various measuring devices to create ideal symmetry between both eyebrows. (Please note that nobody's face is totally symmetrical and it's best to be realistic with your expectations. I cannot match a photo of your favorite celebrities if you don't have the same face shape to look like theirs. Nor is it crucial to make the eyebrows completely identical.) Once shape is agreed upon, I will then shape your brows. Then, I will play a crucial role in choosing the correct blade/needle size for each clients specific skin type as well as correct color choice for each skin tone. I can also test color choice of your choosing against your skin so you can see it prior to the procedure. Shortly after, a topical numbing solution is used during the procedure to ensure the appointment is as comfortable as possible for the client. Once numb, the pigment is then deposited.
The 2 to 3 hour appointment is extremely interactive to help keep clients nerves at rest. Healing is a simple process in which its normal to experience some pigment loss; which is why a touch up is needed 6 to 8 weeks after. I send clients home with a moisturizing ointment to apply throughout the following 10 days.
9. How Long Does it Take to Heal? Can I Go to Work?
Healing time varies from person to person but typically takes about a 6 week period. Your skin is considered to be healed after the epithelial crust forms and slough off. As long as you're good at following aftercare instructions, there shouldn't be a problem going to work or being out in public
10. Can I Get them Wet or Workout?
No, not for at least two weeks to keep the treated area dry and reduce the risk of complications or infection and to retain the maximum amount of pigment implanted.
11. Is a Touch Up Necessary
Majority of clients require 2 sessions to have their brows perfected. Your face experience more exposure to the sun, products and other daily regimen. All these thing can cause the color to fade, which is why you need a touch up. Touch up appointments are made 4 weeks after your initial appointment by using the online booking system. Clients with fuller brows may not need a touchup. Annual touchups are definitely recommended to maintain great looking results.
12. How do I Extend the Life of my Brows?
Your Eyeconic Brows will last longer if you apply sun block often and avoid abrasive facial treatments in the brow area.
13. Can I Wear Makeup?
Not on the brows for at least two weeks but everywhere else is fine.
14. Will Microblading will work for Me?
If you have extremely oily skin, the microblading technique may NOT work well for you. The constant production of oil will cause the hairstrokes to heal with a diffused, softer look. Your end result will look more powdered instead of a crisp hair stroke appearance. Clients with darker skin (Indian, African American, Filipino, etc.), please know that the hair strokes WILL NOT appear as defined or as dark as lighter skin types due to the skin color already being naturally darker.
Is it possible to not retain pigment even after a few visits. Could this happen?
Yes, it can happen. If this happens a third appointment can be set up so the client has the opportunity to sort out "if any" tweaks that might be needed.
What if I don't like it?
If you don't like the decision that you have made, then the touch up can be cancelled. The pigment will fade over time.
Please read the before and aftercare page before setting appointment to make sure you are a candidate for eyebrow services.
